Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has pledged his commitment to the South coast club despite speculations linking him with a move to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The 42-year old joined the Cherries in June 2023 and has seen a remarkable upturn in their performances, with the club currently 10th in the English Premier League standings, five points behind Chelsea in fourth-place.
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to Andoni Iraola as a potential replacement for manager Ange Postecoglou, who is facing a potential exit amid the North London side’s struggles this season.
Spurs are currently languishing in 14th spot in the Premier League standings, and with the hopes of a top four finish gone, the Europa League remains the only realistic chance of winning a silverware at the end of the season.
“I want to do my job the best I can. I don’t know how far we can go, where we will finish.
If I don’t do the job very well, they will find someone else. I’m really happy here. We have a great opportunity to make history and it would be amazing for me personally, for the club to achieve new heights, but we know that we have to be realistic”, he said.
The Spaniard has achieved impressive results, earning him the EPL Manager of the Month award for January 2025, and guiding Bournemouth to the FA Cup quarterfinals, where they will face Manchester City.
“There are better teams than us and we have to fight against teams that are very good. We will try to give the best level we have”, Iraola stated emphasizing his dream of winning a silverware at the Cherries.
Bournemouth host English champions Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday, with a spot at the semifinals in Wembley on the line.
