Reports: Barcelona to offer Hansi Flick new contract

Barcelona are looking to offer Hansi Flick a contract extension having reportedly met with 60-year-old’s agent, Pini Zahavi.

Barcelona have enjoyed a good run since the start of the season, as they are deep into their hunt for their third European treble under the Hansi Flick era.

After a rather arduous last season under Xavi Hernandez, Flick has revitalized the Catalan side this campaign as they lead the La Liga title race with 67 points across 30 matches – four points clear of rivals Real Madrid -, have secured a place in the Copa del Rey final and look certain to qualify for the Champions League semi-final after a 4-0 first-leg win over Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-final on Wednesday.

As per Spanish outlet, SPORT Barcelona leadership have now met up with Flick’s agent, Zahavi, to discuss a new contract with the German which will further keep him with the Catalan side. The report also adds that Barcelona president Joan Laporta, director Deco, and other senior figures met with Zahavi on Tuesday with the goal of strengthening ties before making an offer for an extension.

Flick joined Barcelona last summer after parting ways with the German national team in 2023. The German signed a contract until the summer of 2026.

Barcelona will look to extend their lead when they take on Leganes on Sunday, April 13.
