De Bruyne drops cryptic hint about future amid pending Man City exit

Mercurial Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has provided an update regarding his potential next destination with the 33-year-old midfielder set to end his ten-year association with Manchester City at the end of the season.

De Bruyne will depart the Etihad Stadium at the conclusion of the ongoing Premier League season after the club’s hierarchy opted against extending the Belgian gem’s already expiring contract beyond the current campaign.

Having returned to England in 2015 with a lot to prove following his failed stint with Chelsea early on in his career, De Bruyne took the Premier League by storm in Man City colours.

He played a starring role as Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering Manchester City dominated England’s top-flight with six triumphs in eight seasons

Now enjoying his last months in Manchester, De Bruyne was on target in City’s 5-2 win over Crystal Palace, scoring a sublime free-kick to kickstart the defending champions’ comeback from a two goal deficit at the Etihad on Saturday.

While speaking to reporters after Saturday’s triumph, De Bruyne was quizzed about the possibility of making a switch to another Premier League club after leaving City.

“I don’t know,” he told Viaplay. “It could be not. It’s very hard because the decision of leaving is not been long so nothing can be decided in a week.

“In the football world I don’t think everything comes in a week. It goes very slowly. I’ve not even seen my family since the announcement.

“Whatever project is available, I’m willing to listen. I love football, I love to play football and if a a nice projects comes, and my family is good with that then we are able to make a decision.”
