The Cottagers’ manager, Marco Silva, has expressed his commitment that his team will continue to fight for a place in the European competition till to their last match of the season.
Last weekend, Chelsea came from behind to defeat the West London outfit with an injury time goal from Pedro Neto at Craven Cottage which saw the host stood at ninth spot on the log.
Speaking to DAZN Portugal after his side conceded late goals from Tyrique George and Beto, the Portuguese manager remained defiant about his team’s ambitions for the rest of the season.
“My head is at Fulham. We don’t control everything [that is said] around us. It is not part of me. With such important games week after week[in the Premier League], our total focus is here and we control what we can, which is preparing the players for the next matches,” he said.
The defeat on their turf dealt a blow to Silva’s side’s European hopes, but the gaffer insisted the campaign is far from over.
He continued: “The goal is for us to fight. We have five finals to fight for and we will fight. There is no turning back.”
Later, this weekend, the Cottagers will lock horns with the already relegated Southampton and the 47-year-old’s players will play to prove his right with victory.
