Richarlison fires back at Liverpool’s Elliott over viral gesture video

Tottenham Hotspurs’ Richarlison has responded brutally to Liverpool’s youngster Harvey Elliot due to a controversial gesture video where Elliot taunted the Brazilian forward during the Reds’ resounding 5-1 victory over Spurs at Anfield.

The Anfield giants’ 20th top-flight championship, the Premier League victory set off jubilant scenes all over Merseyside.

Elliott taunts Richarlison after late-game rift

Late in stoppage time, Elliott and Richarlison were having a lot of fight as Arne Slot’s side was on its way to victory. The home team midfielder responded by pushing the Brazilian and exchanging some words.

The referee, settled the problem promptly. The English footballer was not comfortable at all as he slyly flashed a ‘three’ and a ‘zero’ with his hands, a gesture first perplexing to supporters but later seen to mean Everton’s 30-year trophy shortage. The 27-year-old stayed four seasons with the Toffees before joining Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Richarlison’s brutal clapback

A fan uploaded a video of the heated argument on the internet after the event. Richarlison replied straight under the video with a sassy comment of his own; he is not one to be silenced.

“He wants to reach 30 goals in his career I think,” the Brazilian replied.

Harvey Elliott has 22 career goals at present, 14 of them coming from 143 games in a Liverpool jersey.

Known for their fiery competitiveness, both Elliott and Richarlison are not unfamiliar with on-field confronts. Particularly, the Spurs’ forward has gotten known for squaring up to opponents, whether during his stay at the Goodison Park side or now at Tottenham.
