Sweden internationals Lina Hurtig and Amanda Ilestedt will leave Arsenal when their contracts expire this summer.
The bigger picture
Hurtig, 29, completed a summer transfer move from Italian side Juventus in 2022. Upon her arrival, the forward has endured a series of injuries during her time at the north London club, and missed much of the 2024-25 season due to personal reasons.
Hurtig has made five Women’s Super League appearances this season, scoring just once, with her other goal for the club this term coming in the win against Juve which sealed the Gunners’ progression to the knockout stages of the Champions League before booking a slot in the final after a 5-3 (agg) win against Lyon in the semi-final in April.
In total Hurtig has scored seven goals in 36 appearances for Arsenal.

Defender Ilestedt joined Arsenal in the summer of 2023 after starring alongside Hurtig in Sweden’s third-place finish at the Women’s World Cup. Ilestedt, 32, missed most of this season while on maternity leave and has made only three league appearances for Arsenal in 2024-25.
The duo — who were part of the side that won the League Cup in 2023 and 2024 — could make their final league appearance for Arsenal against Manchester United on Saturday.They will also be available for the Women’s Champions League final, with Arsenal facing Barcelona on May 24 in Lisbon.
Another departure in the summer
Forward Teyah Goldie will also leave when her contract expires this summer. The 20-year-old, who came through the club’s academy, spent this season on loan at Championship winners London City Lionesses.Goldie, who had spent 14 years with Arsenal, made six first-team appearances.

What’s next for Arsenal?
Arsenal will return to action when they face third-placed Manchester United on Saturday at the Emirates stadium. United have already secured Europe qualification but they also have the opportunity to leapfrog Arsenal to second place should they secure all three points.
