The forward’s vote in the FWA was well ahead of other top achievers: Virgil Van Dijk of Netherlands and Liverpool, Alexander Isak of Sweden and Newcastle United, and Declan Rice of England and Arsenal.

Fifteen other players also got votes, but none came near to opposing the Egypt international’s dominance.
FWA Chair celebrates Salah’s victory
The Reds’ accomplishment drew much admiration from FWA chair John Cross, who noted his lasting influence on the sport.
“Rarely has there been a more popular winner than Mo. His overwhelming victory is just a reflection of an incredible season. He continues to re-write the record books and his performances this season have obviously been key to Liverpool’s 20th title,” Cross revealed.
