Antonio Conte is refusing to be distracted by all the noise surrounding his future in Naples as he focuses on leading Napoli to a second Scudetto triumph in three seasons.

Conte’s Napoli are within touching distance of a second Scudetto triumph in three years thanks to their three points gap over nearest rivals Inter Milan at the summit of the Serie A standings with only three games left to play.

With upcoming fixtures against Genoa, Parma and Cagliari respectively as well as their three points cushion, the Partenopei will fancy themselves capable of getting the needed results that will deliver another Scudetto to Naples.

Conte focused – No room for distractions

Despite overseeing a fantastic season at Napoli that has surpassed all expectations, persistent media speculation continues to swirl around Conte’s future at the club.

However, the Italian gaffer refused to be drawn into such discussions, insisting he’s fully focused on delivering the Scudetto; “Trust me, the fans in this moment don’t ask me this question,” Conte said with a smile.

“The fans, apart from thanking me, they ask if we will win. And I answer that we will certainly try, as we are doing. This is their only question.”The rest? It’s boredom, Franco Califano, ‘Everything else is boredom’.”

Conte provides injury updates

Conte also provided an update on his squad’s injury situation, stressing that the Partenopei could do with the return of some key players.

“[Stanislav] Lobotka returned to the group yesterday, he trained again today, there is still a fitness test tomorrow morning to make the best decision,” Conte said.

“[David] Neres was back training partially yesterday, I think he can be called up for the bench, also to savour the atmosphere again.

“[Alessandro] Buongiorno is still at a standstill, and Juan Jesus, who is dying to return, he says he is ready, but the doctors are holding him back.”
