Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky Van De Ven has said that his side are ready to battle Manchester United ahead of the Europa League final next week.
The Dutch centre-back insisted that the North London side are fully focused on winning the title ahead of their league rivals, stating that they have nothing to fear.
What Van De Ven said
“People ask me if we had fear for United. Of course, it’s a final, and in the final, everything can happen, but if you really look at it, it’s the same game as it always is”, he said.
“Of course, the word ‘final’ is different, and you’re one game away from winning silverware, but we don’t have fear. We know our qualities, we know how strong we are, so yeah, we don’t go there with fear.”

Both sides have endured disappointing league campaigns this season, with Spurs in 17th position on the English Premier League and Manchester United just a spot above them in 16th place.
“The fans] say ‘we haven’t won a trophy for a long time’ and we want to be the group of people – all the support they gave us the whole year, the whole tough year – we want to give them something special to celebrate. We are the guys that want to change that”, Van De Ven added.
Who will win the Europa League?
Spurs have not won a major trophy in 17 years since defeating Chelsea in the League Cup final in 2008, despite appearing in four finals since then.

Manchester United on the other hand have won two titles in the last two seasons, first winning the League Cup in former manager Erik Ten Hag’s first season-in-charge before winning the FA Cup under the Dutch boss last season.
The pressure is on both sides to deliver an outstanding performance in the final, with a spot in next season’s UCL another prize for the winner.
