Young Brighton striker ‘attracting’ interest from three Premier League giants

Brighton and Hove Albion center forward Joao Pedro is reportedly turning the heads of Premier big shots Arsenal, Chelsea and champions Liverpool with all three teams weighing up a potential deal for the Brazilian ahead of the summer transfer window.

Why is Joao Pedro attracting attention?

The former Watford striker has been in fine form for Brighton and Hove Albion this season, racking up an impressive tally of ten goals and six assists to record the most productive campaign of his budding professional career.

According to The Telegraph, the 23-year-old Brazil international’s impressive form has caught the attention of three of the Premier League’s biggest clubs with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all reportedly in taking a look at the in-form centre forward ahead this summer transfer window.

Despite the Telegraph’s report, it doesn’t seem like any of the aforementioned teams are prioritizing a move for Pedro at this point. While the three clubs will most likely be in the market for striking reinforcements when the summer window opens, they are all expected to prioritize moves for more proven candidates.

Arsenal have consistently been linked with names like Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres. Isak is also reportedly attracting interest from Liverpool. Meanwhile, Chelsea have been linked with Sesko as well, along with Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen.

Joao Pedro’s price tag

Regardless of the suitor, any club hoping to sign Pedro will have to pay a premium. According to The Telegraph, Brighton are set to demand a fee that “far exceeds” the £30 million they paid Watford for the exciting Brazilian in 2023.
