Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has expressed desire to be written into the club’s history books with a victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
The Red Devils face-off against league rivals Spurs at San Mames on Wednesday night, with both sides hoping to end a faltering season on a high.
What Hojlund said:
“There’s a lot of opinions and pressure at this football club, but then again you’re going to be written into history if you do win. That’s why I’m here – I want to be part of this great club’s history and want to be remembered.”
The 22-year old who moved to Old Trafford for £72 million in 2022, has been in remarkable form in Europe this season, scoring six times from 10 starts, although his league form has been on the down side.

“Domestically, it’s not been great, but we’re here to win trophies and if we can get that over the line on Wednesday, it’s going to be an amazing thing to do,” he continued.
“It’s going to be a big game. Two clubs obviously that have been struggling in the domestic league, but then in a European final, it’s incredible. It’s going to be an important game for both teams, a good team we’re going to face, and we’re looking forward to the opportunity.”

The all-English final will hold at Athletic Bilbao’s iconic stadium, with both sides hoping for a win to end a disappointing season and also secure qualifying for next season’s UCL.
Manchester United remain the only unbeaten team in Europe this season, producing remarkable victories over Lyon and Bilbao on their way to the final with Tottenham Hotspur the only obstacle between them and a first European trophy since 2017.
Spurs have however beaten the Red Devils in three previous meetings this season, although Ruben Amorim’s side will go into the game as favorites because of their European pedigree.
