Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has revealed that he “never worries” about losing his job at Old Trafford despite his side’s abysmal performances in the Premier League this season.
What happened?
Despite being one of the most impressive teams in Europe this season, Manchester United have endured their most difficult campaign of the Premier League era and are on course for their lowest ever finish in the English top flight since they were relegated 51 years ago.
Currently, the Red Devils are languishing in 16th place in the Premier League and are without a win in their last eight outings. However, Amorim, while speaking with journalists ahead of the Europa League final, shrugged off speculations that the outcome of Wednesday’s game could put his job in danger.

What did Amorim say?
“It’s a good thing for me. I never worry about that. That is a part of being a coach. And the most important thing, I know what I’m doing. I explained everything before we started, I explained about the storm [that would come],” the Portuguese tactician said.
“I explained all the problems that we have to the board, I explained that I would not change my idea. So they cannot say one thing that I said to get the job and then I change my mind. It was the opposite. The board can understand that, the fans can understand that.”
Pressed further to provide a timeline for Manchester United’s return to the top, Amorim chose to focus on the task at hand.
“It’s hard to speak about that because we need to be excited [about the final] and confident but we already know the problems,” he said.
“Tomorrow will be important for us and for our fans because winning can help us to have that strength to do every job we have to do. Tomorrow will be massive for us and our fans.”
