Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim will apologize to the club’s supporters after their final home match of the season against Aston Villa later today.
The Red Devils host the UCL hopefuls at Old Trafford in the final game-week on Sunday, with Amorim expected to use the opportunity to plead with the fans.
Man United’s underwhelming campaign
Manchester United are currently 16th on the Premier League standings with 39 points and will record their worst-ever finish since the 1973-74 season, when they were relegated to the second division.

Amorim, 40, joined in November to replace Erik Ten Hag who was dismissed after series of disappointing results.
Despite the early promise shown, the team has faltered under the Portuguese coach’s style, yielding lackluster performances and disappointing results.
The Europa League which would have provided a form of salvation for an underwhelming campaign also ended in agony, after they suffered a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the final on Wednesday.
What Amorim said
“It will be an apology, I think that’s clear. I don’t have time for an explanation.
I will be honest with the fans and say what is in my mind and especially my heart”, the Portuguese said.
“It’s tradition, and we have to face it,” he explained. “It will be the biggest mistake if we don’t do that.
I know that the manager addresses the public and I will do that, it’s the least I can do. I have an idea what I want to say but I will decide tomorrow. If ever there was a season that we need to do it, it’s this one”, he continued.
