Simone Inzaghi denies Inter Milan exit rumors ahead of UCL final

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi has reaffirmed his commitment to the club amid rumors linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia.

The 49-year old however maintained focus on next weekend’s UEFA Champions League final match against French champions Paris Saint Germain.

“It’s the same thing every year, when I was at Lazio and at Inter, luckily there are requests, from Italy, from abroad and from Saudi Arabia,” Inzaghi told reporters on Monday.

Inzaghi joined the Nerazzurri in 2021 and led them to the Italian Serie A title last season, with the final against PSG next Saturday, their second in three years.

“But I think it would be crazy right now to think about that. As the (Inter) president said, with whom I have a great relationship, the day after the game we’ll sit down and talk, as we’ve always done over the years. With only one objective, which is the good of Inter.”

The Italian also spoke about the disappointment of losing out on a second straight league title to Napoli on the final day of the season.

He continued; “Friday was not an easy day, believe me. It was a very difficult championship to swallow. But you don’t look behind, in football you always have to look ahead. Chest out and let’s move forward.

I saw the boys again today, we ate together in a place outside. After Como I didn’t want to talk, today I saw them well. We have a big game in front of us, but this group has always excited me and I think it will do so again on Saturday”, he added.

Can Inter win the UCL?

The Nerazzurri are back in the final of the competition after losing out on the 2023 edition to Manchester City.

Simone Inzaghi’s men will however face a stern test against Luis Enrique’s PSG, who have eliminated three English sides in the knockout stages, if they are to win a first European crown since 2010.

After a tough weekend, Inter Milan will look to overcome the league disappointment by defeating the French side in their quest for a historic European title win.
