Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he wants to see Inter Milan come up trumps against Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the UEFA Champions League after missing out on Serie A glory.
Why Inter Milan?
Mourinho, who shocked the football world by leading FC Porto to an unlikely Champions League triumph in 2004, established himself as one of the greatest managers in history after repeating the feat with Inter Milan in 2010.
During his highly successful two-year reign as Inter boss, the Portuguese tactician clinched Serie A glory in his first season and then completed a continental treble in his second before leaving to become Real Madrid boss.
Inter Milan are now set to make their second appearance in the UEFA Champions League final since Mourinho’s iconic stint, having narrowly lost 1-0 against Manchester City in the 2023 final.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Mourinho who light-heartedly said he was secretly worried about Simone Inzaghi’s men replicating this 2010 achievement, backed the Nerazzurri to go on and win the final

What did Mourinho say?
“I’m going to be very naughty, but very honest,” Mourinho said. “I was worried they [Inter] could win the treble, because I didn’t want them to win the treble. The treble in mine!”
“But now that they lost the championship [Serie A] and the Italian Cup [Coppa Italia], I would love for them to win the Champions League.”
When and where will the final be played?
Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are set to lock horns for European club football’s biggest prize on May 31, 2025 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
For Inter, this represents their last hope of winning silverware this season while PSG, having enjoyed both Ligue 1 and Coupe de France glory will be eyeing their first ever Champions League triumph as well as a continental treble.
