Paris Saint Germain midfielder Vitinha was delighted as his side secured a historic UCL trophy with an emphatic 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan in the final on Saturday night.
Vitinha, 25, also referred to the club’s fans as their biggest inspiration, as they broke their Champions League drought with the one-sided win.
How it happened
The French Champions dispatched their Italian opponents in scintillating fashion, as goals from Achraf Hakimi, Desire Doue (2), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu, secured the win.
Hakimi opened the scoring in the 12th minute after Doue unselfishly squared for him to tap in, before the 19-year old turned scorer moments later when his strike deflected in off Federico Dimarco to make it 2-0.

Doue got his second of the game and PSG’s third after the break, before Kvaratskhelia got on the scoresheet to make it 4-0.
Inter Milan were further embarrassed when 19-year old substitute Mayulu scored a fifth in off the post, to secure a first ever UCL title for Les Parisiens.
With the win, PSG became the first French team to complete the treble, after already winning the Ligue One and the Coupe de France titles.
Luis Enrique also became the second manager to win the treble with two different clubs after winning it with Barcelona in 2015- the other being Pep Guardiola, who also won it with Barcelona and Manchester City.

What Vitinha said
“It means everything,” he said. “I think the fans are the main reason that we wanted to win this trophy, but we wanted to win this trophy for a lot of reasons. It’s our dream, it’s everybody’s dream and it’s my dream and I’m glad we made it. It’s incredible.
The group of players, the team. It’s a very good team. The result is not by magic and we are very, very happy we did it like this, and now we’re going to celebrate”, Vitinha concluded.
