Samuel Chukwueze eyes long-term stay at AC Milan

AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze has stated his desire to remain at the club beyond this summer.

Chukwueze, 26, is keen on staying at the Italian side despite enduring a disappointing 2024/25 season.

The 26-year old has struggled with injuries and consistency, limiting his playing time as he managed just nine starts in the league last season.

Chukwueze has failed to replicate his form at Villareal, having recorded five goals and three assists in all competitions last season, with three goals and three assists the season before.

What Chukwueze said

“Milan’s supporters are among the best in the world. They truly deserve more (than we did last season),” Chukwueze said in an interview.

“They stand with us through rain and cold, taking off their shirts, singing, and backing the team wholeheartedly.

Unfortunately, this season we let them down. I hope next season will be much better – with triumphs in the Scudetto, Coppa Italia, and a return to the Champions League to make up for it all”, the Nigerian added.

Will the Nigerian leave AC Milan?

Samuel Chukwueze’s future at the former European champions remain uncertain. The Super Eagles forward has hinted at his desire to stay even though a significant transfer fee could tempt the club into a sale.

The Nigerian has been linked with a return to Spain to join former club Villareal, while English side Fulham have also shown interest in acquiring his services.

Whether he remains at the club beyond the summer remains unknown, although he must be eager to impress at his next destination.
