Russia defender Danil Kruguvoy has issued a strong warning to Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles ahead of their clash on Friday.
Nigeria travel to face Russia in a friendly match at the Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on June 6th, as part of the host nation’s summer friendlies.
What Krugovoy said
“There are no jitters, we are playing at home,” Krugovoy said. “I hope that many fans will come, Luzhniki will be completely packed. Nigeria is a good team, we are obliged to beat them at home.”
The CSKA Moscow defender stated that his side are not scared of facing the former African champions, who possess a lot of quality in their squad.

Nigeria vs Russia preview
The Super Eagles head into the game in fine form, after defeating rivals Ghana and Jamaica en route to winning the Unity Cup last week in England.
With Nigeria expected to welcome back most of their European stars, the clash is expected to be a tough encounter for the Russian team, who have had limited matches in recent years due to ongoing geopolitical restrictions.

Russia on the other hand, have had limited international matches in recent years after their ban by FIFA for the war on Ukraine.
What next for both sides?
The Super Eagles are in danger of missing out on the FIFA 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico after a disappointing qualifying campaign.
They occupy the fourth position in Group C of CAF qualifying, with seven points, six behind group leaders South Africa in first place.
With only the first teams in each group assured of an automatic berth, Nigeria must win their remaining games to keep their hopes alive.
Russia on the other hand, face Belarus after the game against Eric Chelle’s side.
