Bayer Leverkusen forward Nathan Tella is confident Dutch coach Erik Ten Hag will succeed at the German club.
Ten Hag, 55, was appointed by the former Bundesliga champions last month as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, who joined Real Madrid.
Ten Hag joins Leverkusen
“With Erik ten Hag, we are relying on an experienced coach with impressive sports successes. His six title wins with Ajax Amsterdam were exceptional,” Bayer Leverkusen announced last month.

“With three championships and two cup victories, he and Ajax dominated Dutch football unchallenged from 2018 to 2022. And even through the subsequent successes with Manchester United under sometimes difficult conditions, Erik has proven his quality as a coach.
Our visions of football align. With technically demanding and dominant football, we want to pursue the highest goals in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League”, the club added.
What Tella said
“I’m looking forward to it (playing for Ten Hag) a lot. I think he is a very good manager,” Tella said.
“I know, obviously, people are short-sighted and look at only what he’s done at Man United, but people forget he’s won two trophies with them, and what he did with Ajax.

To even get a job at Manchester United from Ajax, it shows he must be doing something incredible,” Tella continued.
“And even (though) it didn’t go the way perhaps people wanted it to go, but then to get a job at Leverkusen shows you that he’s such a high-quality manager because of the manager he’s coming in to replace.”
Will Ten Hag succeed at Leverkusen?
Erik ten Hag is set to succeed Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen, although there are doubts over his managerial prowess after his struggles at Manchester United.
The 55-year old’s experience will be key if Die Werkself are to reclaim the Bundesliga crown they lost to Bayern Munich last season.
