Dean Huijsen vowed to give his all for the “best club in the world” during his official presentation as Real Madrid player after earning a move from Premier League mid-table side Bournemouth.
Huijsen’s impressive 2024/2025 campaign with the Cherries caught the attention of a number of top teams across Europe with the Spain international eventually opting to sign for Real Madrid despite serious interest from Chelsea.
Los Blancos triggered Huijsen’s £50 million release clause to lure the young Spaniard away from the Vitality Stadium and make him the first signing of new manager Xabi Alonso’s era.

Huijsen was officially presented to the media as a Real Madrid player for the first time by club president Florentino Perez. At his presentation, the former Bournemouth defender held up a shirt adorned with his name and the number 24.

“I want to thank the president,” Huijsen told those in attendence. “I’ve wanted to be here since day one. Since Madrid called, I’ve had no other team in mind.
“I want to thank my family, from driving me to training every day to traveling with me… And thank you to my brothers. I’m coming to the best club in the world and I’m here to give it my all with humility, and hopefully we can win many trophies together.
“Madrid is the club of my life. Thank you very much. Hala Madrid.”
