Bayern Munich’s Kane fires warning to PSG ahead of quarterfinal clash

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has warned that his side will be fully prepared ahead of their clash against European champions Paris Saint Germain in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup.

PSG thrashed Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami 4-0 while Bayern defeated high-flying Flamengo 4-2, with both matches held on Sunday, to set up a mouthwatering last eight encounter at the ongoing competition in the United States.

“It’s going to be another tough game,” Kane said after the match.

“PSG have had an amazing season. We played them earlier in the year and we came out on top.

We have to try and use that energy, that feeling, in this game. We know it will be difficult.”

The Bundesliga champions were up to a fast start with two goals in the first ten minutes. First, Flamengo’s Erick Pulgar deflected a corner kick into his own goal before Harry Kane added a second with a superb effort.

Gerson pulled one back for the Brazil side later in the half before Leon Goretzka restored Bayern’s two goal cushion with an effort from outside the box.

Former Arsenal midfielder Jorginho reduced the deficit from the penalty spot for Flamengo after a handball by Michael Olise, before Kane grabbed his second of the game, to secure the win for the German club.

“But look, we feel like we can beat anyone when we’re at our level. We’ve shown it in the tournament so far”, Kane continued.

“It’s going to be another tough game. We’re going to have to recover well and get ready for it.”

Earlier in the day, European champions PSG booked their spot in the quarterfinals with an emphatic 4-0 win over Inter Miami.

Joao Neves(2), an own goal by Tomas Aviles and a strike by Achraf Hakimi in first half stoppage time secured the big win for Les Parisiens.

Both sides will clash in the last eight scheduled to hold at the Mercedes-Benz Arena next Saturday.
