Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of Jarell Quansah from Liverpool. The England U21 international has agreed terms extending until June 2030.
Having made a great impact in their first squad, Quansah departs Premier League champions. Last year he won accolades all across Europe for his performances; now he moves to the German top-flight outfit.
Leverkusen’s director of sport, Simon Rolfes, applauded the acquisition. “We are really thrilled to be able to sign Jarell Quansah, among the most promising English central defenders,” revealed Rolfes. “He made a really amazing contribution to a Liverpool defence full of world-class players.”
He added: “Jarell will give our defence extra dynamism, tempo and strength in winning the ball. He’ll be a very important element of the Werkself of the future.”
Wearing the number four shirt, Quansah looks forward to the fresh challenge. “I was able to get a good impression of the team and the club when Liverpool played Leverkusen in the Champions League last season,” he remarked. “A brilliant team – for the first hour they played like almost no other side at Anfield.
“The ambitious targets here were clearly explained to me during the negotiations. It’s a great role and challenge for me to be part of the current Leverkusen rebuild,” he concluded.
With the reigning Bundesliga side, Quansah starts a fresh era in Germany.
