English winger Jamie Gittens is almost ready to move from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea in a highly publicized transfer.
Dortmund confirmed the agreement as all parties settled it in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Though contract details are still being worked out, Gittens is tipped to sign a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Die Borussen might make up to €65 million (£55.9 million) from the transaction, which gives the team important financial stability.
The Germany top-flight team’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl said the talks were difficult but fruitful.
“The talks with Chelsea were challenging, but ultimately we are pleased that we can most likely realize our financial ambitions and then have planning security,” he remarked.
Kehl also complimented the winger’s contributions. “Jamie is an outstanding player who has given us a great deal of pleasure. He now wants to take the next step in his career at Chelsea, and we wish him all the best and much success.”
