Liverpool forward, Diogo Jota dies at 28 in car accident

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has died in a tragic car accident in Spain, after his Lamborghini veered off a road in northern Spain — just ten days after his wedding.

According to Marca, Diogo Jota and his brother Andre, 25 who was also a professional footballer, both died when the vehicle they were travelling in came off the road in the province of Zamora, in the north west of Spain, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The Lamborghini’s tyre is believed to have blown out while overtaking on the A-52 around 70 miles west of the city of Valladolid.

Witnesses, who called Spain’s emergency services, told Marca they saw the car burst into flames, which spread to nearby vegetation.
