Luis Diaz offers verdict on Liverpool future amid exit rumours

Colombian forward Luis Diaz has revealed that he is “calm and very happy” at Liverpool in the face of mounting transfer speculations linking him with a potential move away from the reigning Premier League champions this summer.

Diaz’s future has been one of the most talked-about topics of the summer. With two years left on his Liverpool contract, the versatile Colombian forward has reportedly turned down the club’s initial efforts to secure a contract extension.

There is believed to be interest from Saudi Arabia, while Barcelona sporting director Deco previously identified him as a target earlier this summer. The Blaugrana may now be even more motivated to pursue a deal after missing out on preferred target Nico Williams.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with Díaz, as the German champions continue to endure a frustrating summer, having seen both Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams opt against making the switch to Bavaria ahead of next season.

In the midst of all these, Diaz practically confirmed offers from other clubs during discussions with a group of Colombian influencers. The exciting forward revealed that he was pleased with life in Merseyside but fell just short of ruling out a move away this summer.

“We are in the midst of negotiations, talking with Liverpool and everyone who is approaching us,” as quoted by AS. “I am very calm where I am and very happy. I’ll make the best decision for me.”

As far as Liverpool are concerned, they have no plans to sell Díaz and are reportedly valuing him at €80 million. However, some sources doubt whether any offer would persuade the club to part with a player of his caliber.

Last season, the Colombian international was second only to Egyptian talisman Mohamed Salah in goals during Liverpool’s title-winning campaign, displaying his versatility across the frontline and missing just two league matches all year.
