Bayern’s Musiala gives health update after horror injury against PSG

Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has ruled out blaming PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, after his injury when both players collided in their FIFA Club World Cup clash last week.

Musiala suffered a fractured fibula after his ankle was caught by Donnarumma, as both players collided when contesting for the ball in the first half of the encounter.

The German international who was stretchered off the pitch and immediately taken to the hospital, has now undergone a successful surgery and is now set to spend a considerable amount of time on the sidelines.

In a classy act, the 22-year-old refused to blame the Italian goalkeeper, stating that injuries are also a part of the big game.

“Hello everyone, I wanted to say thank you for all the love and support I got from all of you,” he said in a video posted on his social media accounts.

“It really means a lot to me and it is nice to see how the football world comes together in a time like this. I really appreciate it.”

PSG went on to win the game, with goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele sealing a 2-0 win, as they advanced to the last four for a clash against Real Madrid.

“The surgery went really well, I’m in good care, and I wanted to say there is no one to blame for this.

I think situations like this happen and now I am just going to use the next period of time to build up by strength and my positivity again. I am looking forward to seeing you guys again”, Musiala added.

The German superstar is expected to miss at least four months of action and will miss the first few months of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga defense, starting with their 2025-26 season opener against RB Leipzig on August 22.
