Chalobah hails Chelsea unity ahead of Club World Cup final

Trevoh Chalobah has revealed that Chelsea will keep the same strategy that propelled them to the Club World Cup final.

Key in the 2-0 semi-final victory against Fluminense was the Blues defender. Seven recoveries put him at the top of the team, and he finished all 54 of his passes.

Chalobah gave the whole team praise for the trip to the final in New Jersey. He additionally expressed his enthusiasm about playing in a second final in just a few weeks.

“We’re over the moon,” the defender remarked. “It’s been one of our goals since the first game. It’s nice to get into the final. All we can manage is what happens on the pitch, and the boys have done that well. Now we have one more step.”

New signing Joao Pedro stole the focus at MetLife Stadium with two outstanding goals against his former team. Liam Delap, who earlier in the competition astonished, propelled the momentum created by his performance.

The 26-year-old thinks both players have easily moved into the squad.

He added: “They have both fitted in well. They’ve come into the team and played like they’ve been here for years. It’s good to have that type of quality added to a strong group. We’re really happy for them.”

Stamford Bridge heavyweights will hope to finish off their flawless Club World Cup run in Sunday’s finale against Paris Saint-Germain.
