Exciting Swedish youngster confirms Barcelona transfer

Copenhagen’s exciting Swedish youngster Roony Bardghji will be Barcelona’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of goalkeeper Joan Garcia last month.

Bardghji was in the final six months of his contract with the Danish giants, making it easy for the Hansi Flick led La Liga champions to capitalize and bag the midfielder for a cut-price fee of €2 million.

The 19-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters in Europe, was spotted at an airport by reporters after landing in Spain ahead of finalizing his move to the Catalan giants.

When quizzed about his state of mind given the magnitude of his move, Bardghji responded: “I’m very happy to sign for Barca, it’s a dream come true.”

Bardghji will spend the upcoming pre-season with Barcelona, giving manager Hansi Flick the chance to assess the young talent before deciding on his short-term future. If Flick cannot guarantee him regular playing time, a loan move could be considered.

A naturally left-footed player, Bardghji has spent most of his time at Copenhagen operating on the right wing. Over 84 appearances for the club, he has scored 15 goals, including one against Manchester United in the 23/24 Champions League.

Barcelona will still be in the market for a forward after failing to lure long-time target Nico Williams away from Basque country club Athletic Bilbao. They have indicated interest in Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford.

However, the Blaugrana are yet to take any concrete steps towards pursuing either of the aforementioned targets. Rashford’s willingness to make a switch to Catalonia is no secret, but whether that’s enough incentive for Barcelona is something only the future can reveal.
