Want-away Manchester United star rejects Saudi Pro League move

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has reportedly turned down an offer from the Saudi Pro League as he continues to hold out for a dream move to Barcelona.

Rashford is one of five players that Manchester United are actively looking to offload this summer. The Carrington product fell out of favour with head coach Ruben Amorim and is consequently now estranged from his boyhood club.

With his future looking almost certain to be away from Old Trafford, the England international has been secluded from Amorim’s first team as the Red Devils begin preparations for the upcoming season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, a Saudi Pro League recently lodged a bid for Rashford, tabling a fee in the region of €40 million. But the Red Devils outcast has reportedly rebuffed the idea of making a switch to the Middle-East.

A move to Spanish La Liga champions Rashford’s preferred move if he is to depart Manchester United with the forward reportedly willing to lower his salary demands in order to successfully facilitate a transfer.

While Barcelona sporting director Deco has openly admitted the Blaugrana’s admiration for Rashford, at the moment, there appears to be no concrete efforts on the part of the Spanish champions to secure his signature.

Barcelona’s reluctance is thought to be financially related and are understood to consider United’s €40 million asking price too steep especially given the current state of their finances.

For now, Rashford will have to continue training on his own while hoping that his future can be resolved sooner rather than later.
