Forward Willy Gnonto is primed for their pre-season clash as Leeds United lock horns with Manchester United on Saturday afternoon in Stockholm.
As both teams evaluate their personnel before the start of the new season, the historic rivalry will be held in the Strawberry Arena.
Leeds view this as a chance to gain momentum under Daniel Farke, not just for bragging rights.
“It is going really well,” the Italian revealed to LUTV. “I feel like we are working really hard, we are getting ready for what is going to come and it is important to get to know the new players, get to know what the coach wants to do this season and, yeah, just good vibes all around.
“I think everyone is in a good mood. Everyone is happy to be back and we are ready to work. It is obviously tough but it is good to get ready from now so that the season is going to be easier for us,” he added.
The 21-year-old played 43 league matches for Leeds United in the 2024/25 Championship season, scoring 9 goals and providing around 6 assists as the club earned promotion back to the Premier League. He was named Leeds United’s Young Player of the Year for his impressive performances throughout the campaign.
He continued: “Obviously, I try to enjoy myself. It is not easy when you have to do runs and stuff like this, but obviously we have to do it.
“I think it is the best game to start with. It is a big rivalry and it is our first friendly game as well. So, we just want to try to get the result and start on the right foot.
“Obviously, it is Manchester United, so it is never going to be a game like the others. We know what we have to do. We know that it is a friendly game but we want to win,” he concluded.
The Peacocks’ supporters will hope to witness a powerful performance as preparations for a significant season ahead go on.
