Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has pledged his commitment to the club despite transfer speculations linking him with an exit.
Boniface, 24, has been subject of an exit from the former Bundesliga champions, with several clubs from England and Spain expressing their interest in his services.
The Nigerian international had agreed personal terms with Al Nassr in January before the deal broke down as the Saudi Arabia club opted to sign Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran instead.
Xabi Alonso’s departure to join Spanish giants Real Madrid had further fueled rumors of an exit, although Boniface has now expressed his desire to remain at the Germain club.
“Absolutely, my future is here. From my side, it’s 100 percent clear that I’m staying. I have three years left on my contract, I want to win titles with Bayer, have a great season”, he revealed.
Boniface joined Leverkusen in 2023 after impressing at Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise.

The Super Eagles forward played an influential role as the club won a first-ever Bundesliga title in the 2023-24 season, finishing the league campaign unbeaten.
The 24-year-old also claimed the Bundesliga rookie of the season for his impressive showings, scoring 21 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions.
Bayer Leverkusen also won the German cup while their only defeat of the season was in the final of the UEFA Europa League, losing 3-0 to Atalanta.
“It is what it is. The transfer didn’t happen, I’m still here.
Even when things weren’t going so well for me last season, I spoke to [sporting director] Simon Rolfes and told him: I love it here”, Boniface added.
Boniface’s decision is a boost for the German club, who have already lost the services of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Jonathan Tah to other clubs in the transfer window.
