Harry Maguire has verified he will meet Manchester United’s preseason squad in the United States on Wednesday. Originally failing to make the club’s 32-man trip list, the defender suffered a personal crisis.
Maguire told fans in a direct Instagram update that everything is fixed now. He stated he is prepared to go back with his teammates and thanked supporters for their care.
“All is fine now,” he posted on his page. “I’ll be travelling tomorrow to meet up with the squad.”
Particularly as many other well-known players including Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were excluded from the traveling party, the Englishman’s absence had sparked speculation.
However, the Sheffield-born defender’s situation was very personal, unlike others associated with transfers.
United’s backline has often featured the England international, who will want to establish himself once more in the side this year.
His comeback will provide manager Ruben Amorim more choices as competition is tight at the back following fresh arrivals.
The 32-year-old concluded: “Thanks for all your support and messages.”
As the team begins its US trip, his comeback provides experience and leadership.
