Spanish defender Cristhian Mosquera has agreed with Arsenal a deal worth at least £13 million having officially signed from Valencia.
Already linked up with his new teammates on their pre-season excursion in Singapore, the 21-year-old has signed a five-year deal.
Mosquera decided to sign Arsenal after finishing his medical in London, despite contract extension offers from Valencia.
He made it plain he only wanted to be transferred to the Emirates and only had one year remaining on his contract.
The Gunners consider him to be a valuable asset to their defense. Naturally right-footed, the Spain U23 international can play on either side of central defense.
He is anticipated to provide rivalry for both William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes as well as add depth.
Speaking following his relocation, the defender said he could not pass up the chance to join Arsenal. He remarked, “There’s been a lot of hard work behind this. I’m joining a historic, massive club.”
Ches Blanquinegros also issued a statement confirming the Spaniard’s clear choice to join Mikel Arteta’s players rather than extend his contract in Spain.
As the Gunners gets ready for a difficult season across all competitions, Mosquera’s flexibility, experience in LaLiga, and grit could prove quite beneficial.
