Cunha unfazed by challenge of solving Man United’s goalscoring issues

Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha has revealed he is unbothered by the challenge of solving the club’s goalscoring issues.

Cunha secured a dream move to Old Trafford in June, joining Ruben Amorim’s side in a £62.5 million deal from Wolves.

The Brazil forward netted 15 times in the league last season, more than any Manchester United player, highlighting the club’s lack of firepower.

The 26-year-old made a strong impression on his club debut last weekend in a goalless draw against Leeds United in a preseason friendly, and now aims to build on that performance.

“I really think the pressure on this club is not really pressure. It’s a privilege because this is one of the biggest clubs in the world”, the former Wolves forward revealed.

“I feel like it’s a challenge that I want to do for my career. And for me, always United is one of the clubs that need to be there. And to feel that I can be part of the process is something that is a big privilege.”

Despite strong interest from several clubs including Arsenal and Chelsea, Cunha revealed the privilege of donning the iconic Manchester United jersey, made the decision a no-brainer.

“It’s my dream club,” he said.

“This is what the question is, you know. It’s my dream club. When I had the first meeting with Ruben, I feel like they started to build something very important. And of course, I want to be part of this”, Cunha concluded.

The Brazilian will hope to open his account for the Red Devils, when they face West Ham United in the Premier League Summer Series in the United States on Sunday.
