Nigeria produced a remarkable comeback to defeat Morocco 3-2 as they claimed a record-extending 10th continental crown on Sunday.
The Super Falcons made history in the final, overturning a two-goal deficit to reclaim the title after missing out on the 2022 edition.
Morocco needed the luxury of penalty shootout to advance to the final, setting up a rematch of the 2022 semifinal tie which they won en route to the final.

The Atlas Lionesses produced a fast start, taking the lead in 12th minute through captain Ghizlane Chebbak, sending shock waves to the Nigerian team.
Sanaa Msouddy then doubled the hosts’ advantage in the 24th minute, after poor defending by the Super Falcons.
The game looked to be drifting away from Nigeria, until Esther Okoronkwo stepped up to pull one back from the penalty spot in the second half.
The goal brought the Super Falcons back to life and they drew level on terms minutes later through Folashade Ijamilusi.
Morocco were awarded a penalty kick for a handball, although the decision was overturned by the center referee after a VAR review.
However, Nigeria completed the comeback in the 81st minute, when Jennifer Echegini scored a dramatic goal to make it 3-2.
The Super Falcons held on for victory, as they claimed a 10th Women’s African Cup of Nations title at the expense of Morocco, who lost in the final for a second consecutive time.
