Alexis Mac Allister is back with Liverpool in full team practice on their pre-season trip in Japan.
Still to appear in the friendly games of this season, the Argentine midfielder had missed the closing events of last campaign. He is slowly becoming sharp again now.
Mac Allister announced after finishing a morning session in Tokyo with the team,“I’m feeling good.”
He had been sidelined for months as a result of his injury. But today, the Liverpool No. 10 is dedicated to recovering his form. Looking ahead at the 2025/26 run, he is trying to catch up physically with the other team members.
“It has been a long time, a difficult time because it is never nice to be injured,” he acknowledged.
“It’s hard to explain [the injury] because it’s not just one spot that you say, ‘OK, we have to focus on this.’ It’s like two or three different things that I’ve been struggling [with] for a couple of months.
“At the end, we found the solution; we have been working a lot in the gym, on my structure. It’s hard to explain it but as I said, now I’m feeling good and for me that’s the most important thing.”
He added: “As I said, I need to work on my physical shape and get used again to the level of the boys.
“But I’m feeling really, really good, training with the team and I’m pretty sure I’m going to be fine for the beginning of the season and hopefully for the [Community Shield] as well,” he concluded.
Since they won the Premier League title, he rejoins a newly energized Liverpool team with fresh additions. The team’s pre-season rhythm is in full flow.
The Argentine international will now aim to sync back into their tempo as the Reds prepare for another competitive run.
