Ruben Amorim hails Dorgu’s rising influence at Man United

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has lauded the stellar performance of Patrick Dorgu after the Red Devils stormed to a 4-1 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League Summer Series match in Chicago.

The 20-year-old left-back put in a man-of-the-match performance. Before scoring one of his own to end a commanding performance, he set up Rasmus Hojlund’s opening goal.

“It’s impressive. He’s 20 years old. He looks more and more like he belongs in Manchester United, and that is hard to do it [at] 20 years old, but he’s so powerful,” Amorim said in his post-match accolades.

“He’s getting his technique in his game, he’s defending so well, he’s pressing so well. So I’m really impressed with Patrick.”

Since his arrival six months ago, Dorgu has swiftly changed. On the field, he keeps demonstrating power, skill, and tactical discipline.

The gaffer emphasized Hojlund’s hold-up play as well as Ethan Williams’ bench influence. Both helped to create the high-energy spectacle United showed over the 90 minutes.

Given the increased number of fixtures ahead in pre-season, Dorgu’s ascent presents a solid option for Amorim on the left flank.

United supporters will be watching carefully as the young prodigy establishes his place.
