Bernardo Silva thinks the fans of Manchester City will be vital in aiding the club regain its fame this year.
Finishing strong last season with seven victories and two draws in their last ten games, the Blues clinched a Champions League berth.
Still, the season fell short against the amazing benchmarks established under Pep Guardiola, which featured the treble in 2022/23 and a record four-in-a-row Premier League victory in 2023/24.
Being among the team’s leaders, Bernardo is aware that standards are extremely high.
He claims the audience’s backing can make all the difference in helping City return to victory.
Presented by Etihad Airways, the ‘City Are Back’ event will draw city fans to the Joie Stadium where both the men’s and women’s teams will workout in front of fans.
For many, it will be the first opportunity to see the newly-signed members of the club in action.
“Last season wasn’t what we wanted – that’s the same feeling for players as well as fans,” the Portugal international said in an interview.
“But this coming season is a chance to turn the page and start again. We are really focused on improving and challenging for silverware again, something that is in the DNA of this club and this team.
“We kick off the new season with the open training session event with our fans and we’re all looking forward to it.”
The Cityzens have made six summer signings ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
He added: “Our supporters are so important to everything we do. Every game, the emotions we feel on the pitch, they feel too.
“We have had a great time together over many seasons now and we have shared these amazing moments together. We want more of them as we get ready for the new season,” he ended.
