Man United sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in £73.7 million deal

Manchester United have completed the signing of Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in a deal worth up to £73.7 million.

The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal at the club, after choosing the Red Devils over Newcastle United who had also submitted an offer to acquire his services.

Sesko becomes Man United’s third major signing of the summer, following Mattheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

The Red Devils are set to pay an initial £66.3 million with the remaining fees in performance-related add-ons.

“The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future”, Sesko said in his first interview as a Manchester United player.

“When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue to grow and compete for the biggest trophies again soon.”

The forward will be unveiled at Manchester United’s game against Fiorentina in the Snapdragon Cup on Saturday, after sealing his dream move.

“From the moment that I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment that the club has created. It is clearly the perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfil all of my ambitions”, he continued.

“I cannot wait to start learning from Ruben and connecting with my team-mates to achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together.”

Ruben Amorim’s side host Fiorentina at the Old Trafford on Saturday in the Snapdragon Cup, before beginning their 2025-26 EPL campaign against Arsenal on the 17th of August.
