Liverpool have secured the signing of 18-year-old defender Giovanni Leoni from Parma, subject to international clearance and a work permit.
The Premier League champions finalised the deal after Leoni passed his medical and agreed a long-term contract at the AXA Training Centre.
Leoni enjoyed a standout breakthrough season in Serie A with Parma in 2024-25, making 17 appearances and scoring once.
“I’m very happy to be here. It’s a really great sensation and I’m honoured to be here,” he told Liverpoolfc.com. “Yeah, a lot [of excitement]. I’m so honoured. I was very happy [about Liverpool being interested]. When I saw this I said, ‘Wow, this is crazy.’ I’m very happy.”
The Italy youth international made his senior debut for Padova in March 2023, just three months after turning 16.
He later spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Sampdoria in Serie B, playing 12 times and scoring once, before Parma signed him permanently last summer.
Leoni will wear the No.15 shirt for the Reds this season.
