Leanne Kiernan has committed her future to Liverpool FC Women by signing a new contract at the AXA Melwood Training Centre.
The Republic of Ireland striker is ready to continue her impressive journey with the Reds.
The deal takes Kiernan into her fifth campaign with the club. She is already Liverpool’s second-highest scorer in the Barclays Women’s Super League era, proving her value in front of goal.
“It feels amazing and I’m really excited to get going again,” she told Liverpoolfc.com shortly after signing.
“[My family are] delighted, honestly. It’s like a second home for them as well as me and they love it over here. I could actually see myself, after I finish my career, in Liverpool. I feel like they’re really enjoying coming over to see me.
“[The fans] have been unbelievable – really supportive throughout injuries, really supportive by sticking with us and I feel like they’ve been there for the good times and the bad. Hopefully we’ll be able to celebrate with them a lot this year.”
Kiernan’s decision to extend her stay shows her loyalty and passion for the Merseyside outfit. The move is also a huge boost for the Reds’ ambitions as they gear up for another season of top-flight competition.
With her experience, sharpness, and connection to the fans, the Irish remains a key figure in Liverpool’s attack. The upcoming season promises to be another exciting chapter for both the player and the team.
