Conor Bradley returns to training as Frimpong faces injury layoff

Conor Bradley is back in training for Liverpool, but Jeremie Frimpong will not feature again until after the international break.

Frimpong was forced off in the second half of the Reds’ 4-2 win over Bournemouth with a hamstring problem. The summer signing will now miss crucial Premier League fixtures against Newcastle United and Arsenal.

Bradley, meanwhile, has rejoined sessions after missing both the Community Shield and the league opener. His return is a welcome boost for Arne Slot, who is managing early-season injury setbacks.

“Conor trained for a few minutes with us today for the first time,” Slot confirmed at his pre-Newcastle press conference.

“The medical team was completely right about Jeremie to tell me they had to take him off, because he is out until the end of the international break and that happened in the game.

“I already said immediately after the game that it had nothing to do with how he played, but we felt he had an issue with his hamstring. And with ‘we’ I don’t mean me, but the medical staff. And they were completely right.

“So, a good call to take him off, otherwise he would have maybe been out for longer. And we expect to have him back after the international break.”

The Merseyside outfit now prepare to face the Magpies before hosting Gunners in back-to-back top-flight clashes.
