Nigeria head coach Eric Sekou Chelle has unveiled a strong 31-man provisional squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles are set to face Rwanda and South Africa in crucial matches that will determine their qualification path.

Veteran leader William Troost-Ekong will captain the side, flanked by fellow defensive stalwarts Olaoluwa Aina and Calvin Bassey. First-choice keeper Stanley Nwabali also makes the list.

In midfield, Africa’s top talents Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi lead the charge, with support from Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Christantus Uche.

The attack features a formidable front line with Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Boniface, and Simon Moses in the mix. Completing the group are Sadiq Umar, Nathan Tella, Terem Moffi, and Cyriel Dessers.

Several players were included for their recent form and potential impact, including Ebenezer Harcourt, W. Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Edoh Agu, Benjamin Fredericks, and Tolu Arokodare.
