Harry Kane stole the show with a stunning hat-trick as Bayern Munich began their Bundesliga title defence in style, smashing Leipzig 6-0.
The champions wasted no time asserting dominance. From kick-off, they pressed high and controlled the tempo, leaving The Red Bulls struggling to breathe.
Leipzig’s only lifeline came briefly after the restart. Antonio Nusa forced a save and had a goal ruled out. But instead of momentum, it sparked Bayern into overdrive.
Kane responded ruthlessly, finishing off chances with trademark composure. Michael Olise lit up the wings with skill and grabbed a brilliant double.
Luis Diaz impressed on his Bundesliga debut, scoring once and creating two more goals.
Vincent Kompany side’s fluid attack left Ole Werner’s team stunned and the Allianz Arena bouncing. The chemistry between Kane, Olise, and Diaz promises fireworks for the rest of the season.
“We wanted to come out with a statement and that’s exactly what we done,” the English international told Sky Sports.
“Leipzig are a good side but today we was on top in all areas and we was clinical when we needed to be, so we can enjoy this.”
The statement victory sends the Allianz Arena giants top early on and issues a warning to rivals that the title holders are hungry to dominate again.
