Leeds United have officially confirmed the signing of James Justin from Leicester City. The 27-year-old joins on a four-year deal and brings Premier League experience with 99 top-flight appearances under his belt.
Speaking on his move to Elland Road, Justin could not hide his excitement about joining a club of Leeds’ stature.
“Obviously to join a club of this size and to have the history it has had, and being back in the Premier League was a massive thing for me, so I’m over the moon to have joined,” he told the club’s official website.
Justin revealed that Leeds’ interest in him has been ongoing, but his focus remained on Leicester until the deal was done.
“It’s been a while since I’ve known of the interest, but obviously I was still a Leicester player, so I had to give my all for Leicester whilst I was there. That’s something obviously that you can expect from me when I put on a Leeds shirt, is to give my all when I’m on the pitch. But for it to finally have happened, it’s taken a weight off my shoulders for sure.
“Everyone that I’ve spoken to about the club and the area has had great things to say about it. So I’m excited to join the lads and get to work.”
He added: “The stadium has obviously got one of the best atmospheres in world football. And it’s always a daunting task to come here as an opposing team, but I’m happy to have the fans behind me this time.
“Hopefully I can put on the shirt in front of the fans and show them what I can do, if selected, and hopefully I can train up until then to get myself ready as possible.”
With the deal wrapped up and the season already underway, Leeds fans will be eager to see Justin bring his energy, commitment, and defensive strength to the squad.
