Nuno Espirito Santo “relaxed” about Nottm Forest future despite speculations

Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo insists that he remains relaxed despite growing speculation over his future at The City Ground, ahead of Sunday’s home clash with West Ham.

Nuno and his Nottingham Forest side head into the fixture unbeaten, having opened their 2025/2026 campaign with a convincing 3-1 victory over Brentford before earning a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

They will be looking to continue their great start to the campaign at the City Ground and all the signs from their performances so far suggest another impressive season could be on the cards, especially with Europa League football on the horizon.

Although uncertainty lingers over Nuno’s position due to tensions within the club’s hierarchy, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager insists he shares a clear vision and ambition for Forest with owner Evangelos Marinakis.

“The answer against Crystal Palace was very good. We have been able to shield players from the noise and they are focused on the tasks. They are mature in their attitude for preparing the game,” Nuno said.

“Yes, in that sense I’m totally relaxed. I think we need to have a talk about the future of the club and how we should address it after the transfer market [closes] and what is the commitment to the club.

“I think me and the president [Marinakis] want the same thing; we want the best for Forest, that’s for sure.”

Nottingham Forest will be confident of getting a result against a West Ham United side that remains winless in the Premier League this season. Meanwhile, the Hammers will be desperate to kick-start their season.

All is set for a highly entertaining encounter at The City Ground.
