Mohamed Salah has hit back at claims that Liverpool’s new arrivals are a huge upgrade on Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.
A post from X (formerly Twitter) account Anfield Edition suggested that Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, who joined for a combined £241m, represented the “biggest upgrade in football history.”
However, Salah quickly stepped in to defend his former teammates. He reminded fans that Diaz and Nunez had played a key role in delivering the English top-flight title under Arne Slot.
“How about we celebrate the great signings without disrespecting the PL champions?” He quoted the tweet and responded.
Salah’s reaction shows the respect he holds for his fellow forwards, as Liverpool prepare for another season of high expectations.
