Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to represent Democratic Republic of Congo for the first time after receiving a call-up for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The 27-year-old right-back previously played for Congo at U20 level before switching to England’s youth sides, where he made appearances for both the U20s and U21s.
In 2019, Gareth Southgate called him up to the England senior squad. However, he withdrew due to a back injury and has not featured for the Three Lions since.
Wan-Bissaka officially changed his international allegiance to DR Congo in August this year, opening the door for his senior debut with the Leopards.
He joins a squad that includes Premier League forward Yoane Wissa, Sunderland pair Arthur Masuaku and Noah Sadiki, along with Ipswich Town defender Axel Tuanzebe.
