Everton boss David Moyes reacts as Grealish wins Premier League award

David Moyes has lauded Jack Grealish as a true difference maker following the England international’s brilliant start to his Everton career.

Grealish arrived at the blue half of Merseyside on a season-long loan from Manchester City ahead of the 2025/2026 campaign and has wasted no time making an impact under Moyes.

Since swapping Manchester for Merseyside, the 29-year-old has been in sparkling form for the Toffees, registering four assists in August, more than any player across Europe’s top five leagues.

His creativity has also placed him joint-top for goal involvements in the Premier League, alongside Chelsea forward Joao Pedro. That influence has now been formally recognized with the Premier League Player of the Month award, the first of Grealish’s career.

In doing so, he becomes the 10th Everton player to claim the honour, edging out competition from Liverpool duo Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai as well as his former Manchester City teammate, Erling Haaland.

Speaking about Grealish’s impact ahead of his side’s matchday four clash with Aston Villa at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Moyes gave the Three Lions star all the credit for his upturn in form and impact at Everton.

“I’m really pleased for him. He’s worked incredibly hard in games,” Moyes told reporters in his pre-match press conference.

“He’s looked after himself in the summer and made sure he came back with the right mindset to produce, and he has produced for us. He’s made a big difference for us.

“It’s nothing down to me. It’s down to Jack Grealish.

“I think Jack wants that feeling that he can play and he can be selected, and when he does that, I think he produces.”

Moyes will be hopeful Grealish’s form continues to drive Everton forward as the season progresses, with the former Villa man already proving to be a key figure in their attacking setup.
