Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry insists he is currently focused on enjoying his and the Bavarians’ strong start to the 2025/2026 season despite his uncertain contract situation at the Bay Arena.
Gnabry’s current contract with the Bundesliga champions expires at the end of the season, with several clubs said to be keeping a close eye on his situation.
Since arriving from Werder Bremen in 2017, the Germany international has featured 291 times for Bayern across all competitions, netting 95 goals while collecting six Bundesliga titles and a Champions League medal.
In the Bundesliga alone, Gnabry has been directly involved in 107 goals (72 goals, 35 assists), making him one of the Bavarian’s most productive players since his debut in September 2018.
This season, he has already contributed four goal involvements (two goals, two assists) in just three matches, including the opener in Saturday’s 5-0 drubbing of Hamburger SV at the Allianz Arena.
Despite uncertainty over what lies ahead, Gnabry remains fully focused on delivering the goods for Vincent Kompany’s side as they look to successfully defend their Bundesliga crown and potentially make their mark in Europe.
“It’s still a while away,” he said when asked about his contract situation.
“I’ll see that I continue like this, that I also have good arguments if it comes to that.
“That’s what I’m concentrating on and enjoying the phase I’m in, the phase we’re in, and everything else will come later. It’s not out of the question.”
Gnabry will be looking to continue his strong start to the season on Wednesday when Bayern Munich play hosts to FIFA Club World Cup champions Chelsea in the opening game of the UCL league phase.
